On 13th August 2026, the Republic of Zambia held its direct universal suffrage Elections. Following an invitation from the Government of the Republic of Zambia through the Electoral Commission, the Forum of Parliaments of Member States of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (FP-ICGLR) has deployed a delegation to particpate in the Joint Electoral Observation Mission with the ICGR to observe these General Elections.
The Election Observation Mission aimed to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the electoral process, based on its own observations, in accordance with international and regional commitments for democratic elections and with the laws of the Republic of Uganda.
The Mission was led by H.E Mokgweetsi Masisi, Former President of Namibia.
